SPECIAL EVENTS

In the latter part of 2009, Melissa became actively involved for a cause close to her heart; fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Melissa's sister, Amanda, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in early 2004. During Amanda's fight against the disease, the Make-A-Wish Foundation was there to support their family by sending them on an all expenses paid trip to Maui for nine days.

Through the support and prayers of family and friends across North America, Amanda was declared cancer-free just six months from the time she was diagnosed.

Melissa now supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation by performing with her harp at various venues and restaurants around the local areas of Lynden and Bellingham, Washington, with all proceeds going directly to the Foundation. It has been an opportunity for Melissa to say, "Thank You", while at the same time helping to provide life-changing and memorable experiences for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
